Vanille's Jukebox « Thread Started on Dec 1, 2006, 9:21pm »
Yeah I'm that bored these days. Every now and then when I can be assed I'll stick up a song title, description, and occasionally put lyrics in the Lyrics board, just for songs that really make me happy. Or sad. Or make me dance...

Jukebox Day 1
Song #1 You are under my control ~beautiful version 00~ If you liked the beat-em-up DOA2, you'll like this. It's Tina's themesong and I adore it, it's one of the best on the OST. It's a dance track at heart but there's a fair bit of electric guitar in it as well. There are no lyrics for this, basically the only vocals come from the girl singing what sounds like "beyyyahhyyy" but I romantically imagine to be "baby". The only problem with this track is, it's incredibly hard to get hold of, having only been released on the DOA2 OST.
Song #2 Maria no Tsumeato (Maria's Fingernails) Lyrics can be found here: http://www.pinkshadows.proboards31.com/i....read=1155639707 I first got into this song because of the title - I was going through my Maria Robotnik phase at the time - and since then, I have fallen so much in love with this track it's not even funny. I'm word-perfect in it. I have the guitar solos timed. And my love affair with the artists, Janne da Arc, still continues to flourish. Seriously, if you haven't got this, get it. While you're at it, download the whole In The Story album. It's a true masterpiece.
I want to forget everything. It is selfish nonsense.

Jukebox Day 2
Song #1 Ash This is a song by Gackt, and if there's one thing I've noticed about Gackt, it's that people either love him or hate him. I used to dislike him rather heartily actually, even though he was a former member of Malice Mizer who I adore... Anyway, I gave him another chance a few months ago, and there are still a few tracks of his I don't like very much, but Ash I love. It starts off very quietly and then round the chorus, Gackt lets rip with his powerful vocals. The chorus is so beautiful. He has a very interesting voice, an accquired taste, if you will... Anyway, if you do like this one, I also recommend Redemption and Farewell.
Song #2 Grand style Another track from the DOA2 OST, so every bit as difficult to find sadly. This is the BGM from Leifang's stage, and if by any chance you find the remix snap that up too. It's difficult to describe this well but it's very Oriental, yet also undeniably techno-y. Basically, if you know of Leifang, this is just music that suits her character perfectly.
Song #3 Storm This is by Luna Sea, who were spotted and signed up by X Japan. Which would, in itself, be almost enough, but their music is amazing as well. The guitar in the intro really draws you in and the vocals are beautifully silky yet also fit their rocky sound so well... Like X, Luna Sea have also been incredibly inspirational to other J-rock acts; The GazettE list them as one of their major influences. If you're looking for other good tracks to get by them... well, download everything you find! They're that good!
I want to forget everything. It is selfish nonsense.

Jukebox Day 3
Song #1 Candy This is by FAKE? who are a J-rock band with a half-Japanese, half-English singer. What that means to you is, his English is as flawless as his Japanese. No random Engrish lyrics here! No sir! This is one of my favourites of The Art Of Losing Touch, and delightfully displays Ken's vocal range and the others' ample skills with their instruments. Basically, this song is easy to listen to but still quite rockstar-esque. The whole of the album is like that. I heartily recommend it to you.
Song #2 Strange Love I often get weird looks for saying this, but I think Depeche Mode are the sexiest band in the world. I am a sucker for synths anyway, but Dave Gahan's voice just does it for me. The lyrics are also awesome. I give in to sin, because I like to practice what I preach. I'm not trying to say I'll have it all my way, I'm always willing to learn if you've got something to teach. Oh and I'll make it all worthwhile. I'll make your heart smile. Basically, everyone should own everything the Mode have ever done and will ever do.
Song #3 Jerk Girls Out An ingenious mashup of Girls On Film and Jerk It Out, by a certain DJ Nite, under whose command the songs seem destined for each other, like a slightly more musical Romeo and Juliet. Trust me, it'll be stuck in your head for eternity.
Song #4 Love Is Dead Woo Psycho le Cemu! It's such a pity they broke up, they made such original, amazing music... Oh well, we still have the memories. I could listen to PlC literally all day. They are rockers at heart, but at certain points on this track they become slightly graceful, if you will... I could have sworn I heard a harpsichord...
Song #1 Tears (TRAX version) Tears, is, of course, an X Japan song, but this more than worthy cover is by The TRAX, who are a Korean group not really unlike X themselves. The singer has a very lovely voice which almost, almost measures up to Yoshi's, and his band are very talented. If you liked the original, give this a whirl. You won't be disappointed. It's every bit as heartbreaking and beautiful as X's version.
Song #2 Wish You Were Here Well I'm not about to declare myself a huge Pink Floydfan, seeing as how I'm not, but I really really love this song. It's difficult to describe... it's wonderfully atmospheric, quite achingly beautiful and more than a little tragic. One of those tracks you could happily put on repeat for literally hours.
Song #3 Curse I quite honestly have no idea where I got this from but I really must insist everyone hears about it. It's by a band called God Module who are industrial-techno if you will... Imagine Pig or Schwein for a perfect example of what to expect. It's just such a different song, with a lot of components coming together perfectly to create a little black hole in my playlist. Well actually one of many black holes... Regardless! It's also, in a peculiar way, quite sexy. Like Pig or Schwein. Ohyes.
Song #4 Snakes On A Plane (Bring It) I first heard this on KRock Radio absolutely ages ago and I still love it. Well you know what to expect if it's been involved with the S.O.A.P movie... It's pretty crazy, a little raunchy, and completely brilliant. The best part? Tough choice between the "Oh I'm ready for it. C'mon bring it", and the delightful bit at the end: "Who's your daddy now bitch?!"
